Happy holidays!

Holidays are finally here! It’s so nice how you can feel it in the air. There is just something different about this time of the year.

Today’s post doesn’t have a recipe to show as usual, It’s just to say thank you to all the people who reads whatever I post, give me feedback on my recipes and new ideas, but more importantly, motivates me to continue doing what I like.

In case you ever wondered why I decided to start this blog here is the answer:

I love baking and I love sharing the deserts I make with amazing people in my life, it’s just a way to demonstrate I care about them. And no, I’m not trying to make anybody fat. It’s also a “me time” when I get to mix ideas in the kitchen and distract myself from the everyday world. Why to put it in a blog then? well, I thought it would be nice to share it, and If someone other than me finds any recipe useful, I’ll be more than pleased.

I started to learn how to bake when I used to live in Florida. There I tasted new flavors that are not so common in my country and also realized it wasn’t as hard as I thought. You just need a lot of practice, patience and be willing to fail in order to learn and improve. My very first cookies and cupcakes were not the nicest or the prettiest, but it’s just how I started. Everything needs some passion, will and time. I have never taken baking or pastry classes, I am learning everything from my “baking mentor” (my second mother that lives in Florida, she knows who she is), the internet (other blogs about baking and cake decorating), scientific research in bakery products and some experimenting in the kitchen.

Another reason; and very important for me, is that I always wanted to write a blog but I kept telling myself no to, that I would have time later or that I was just not that good at writing, and maybe this last one reason is a bit true, BUT WHO CARES! Nobody knows everything, everybody makes mistakes, everybody starts somewhere. I decided I was going to do it now because one never knows if there will be time later and I needed to experiment myself this that I always kept procrastinating about.

This has been a great year. Got to meet amazing people, new places, made new friends, learned lots of things, visit my home country, hugged my family, spent precious time playing with my dogs, made my favorite ice cream with two of my favorite people in the world, reconnected with old friends, started new projects and collected valuable memories. I am so very thankful for everything this year brought to me.

Thank you for reading Chia con limon! Hope you have a Merry Christmas and a very Happy new year 2019! May this year bring us LOVE, JOY, HEALTH, SUCCESS, LAUGHTER AND GREAT MOMENTS TO SHARE WITH AMAZING PEOPLE! almost forgot… and many many more delicious recipes to try!!

See you next year!
